Today I’m sharing about the energies of this new year of 2023 based on the sacred science of numbers known as Numerology. The following are my main resources: Sacred Science of numbers by Corinne Heline and Numerology the Romance in Your Name by Juno Jordon.
The sacred science of numbers is found in the Bible to give deeper spiritual meaning to the stories and give messages for our soul’s unfoldment. A number represents spiritual energies that are archetypal in nature. Meaning each number has its own value and specific meaning assigned to it; it is a group of collective ideas.
In the science of numbers, each number has its own vibration, characteristic and with it experiences. We can be in alignment with these vibrations, in the flow - so to speak, or not. But we will experience the lesson in the number that it offers. It is all about our progression. It is how we evolve through time on this planet earth. There is a specific work to be accomplished during certain periods of our lives. Numbers tell the story or guide us along.
The universe is like a spiral - every year we come to this place in the road of life. A new year of new beginnings with new opportunities, new choices, but like a spiral we meet it at a different plane of energy and vibration. Calling forth for us to unfold more of who we really are - more love, courage, wisdom, understanding, and compassion - with the richness of that which we gained from the prior year; we move forward upward and onward even when it doesn’t seem that way.
The science of numerology is based on cycles of 9 years each. The first number we’re looking at today is called the universal number. A universal number applies to everyone globally. It can be like a gentle nudge, stronger or lesser for some, while our personal numbers take center stage. To find the universal year number for 2023 we add the individual digits together 2+0+2+3=7. This year is a universal 7 year; the 7th year in a 9-year cycle.
The following is the cosmic pattern from Juno Jordon’s book “Numerology; the Romance in Your Name” for the number 7. From the Bible in Genesis 2:3, “And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.”
“The number seven had been born to have the rewards of the number six but commanded to discover the inner knowledge and the Laws of Divine Creation. It had already gained the abundance of its past labors. Now calm, serene in meditation and contemplation, it looks out upon established facts and beholds in visions and dreams the realities of unseen power, thus becoming the possessor of the wisdom of the ages.
Having the blessings of the most High, it may reach out for greater vistas of learning and discover that which as not before been perceived. Standing in the midst of material things, the number seven finds something of the soul in all things. Not of a religious nature, it still makes holy the facts of mankind’s existence.” (End)
The 7s watchword is “Understanding.” It is introspective, intuitive, and a mental number. The 7 is about investigation, research, analysis, science, spirituality, solitude, discovery. Its negative aspects are suspicion, temper, repression, over-analytical, unreasonableness and hidden thoughts.
Corinne Heline writes “Seven is the number of spiritual realization and consummation. Seven is the number possessing the deepest and most far-reaching symbol. It represents rest. The seventh day “rest” does not refer to a cessation of activity but to the emergence from chaos into a higher and a more perfect order.
“Herein, therefore lies the true work of the 7. This number does not enter into the turmoil of experience in its inception but becomes operative when the time is ripe to establish new conditions to supercede the old by a new and higher series. This is its function under every circumstance and condition, and it applies not only to personal relationships but equally to its activity in national and international affairs.
“The number seven is seen as a sacred symbol throughout the Bible; as in the 7 days of creation, Job was the father of 7 sons, possessed 7,000 sheep, his friends sat with him 7 days and nights, and were commanded to sacrifice 7 bullocks and 7 rams. Then in the Book of Revelation the 7 visions, 7 angels, 7 candlesticks, 7 vials of wrath, 7 seals, 7 trumpets. The 7 may be considered the underlying keynote of nature because it governs the periodicity of all natural phenomena. There are 7 musical tones, comprising the diatonic scale, 7 color rays constitute the visible spectrum, and 7 dominates the series of chemical elements.” (End)
The Universal 7 year may bring a sense of quickening after the 6 year of 2022. It will bring about a greater reflection on the past so that we may learn how to improve upon it and build for the future. The 7 calls for a deeper analysis of situations with greater thought and consideration given to the beliefs and actions which we hold. In many instances, people will be looking to master and perfect that which they do, using the lessons of the past as a foundation for improvements in the future, as opposed to beginning new projects and starting from scratch.
Patriotism may take on new and deeper meaning without the partisan divide. It may also bring a greater interest in nature, farming and agriculture as people work to strengthen their connection to Mother Earth and look to become more contemplative and reflective on the inner connectedness of life. This could lead to a stronger trend toward conservation and the ecology as people show greater interest and concern.
Seven is a water number and could be involved in infrastructure projects with water in supply, delivery, treatment and safety. There may be more interest in religion, cosmology, spirituality, metaphysics, mystical teachings and the occult as people look to better understand themselves and the world and universe in which they live. Many may find inspiration, guidance and knowledge through dreams, intuition, and the awareness and use of previously unknown personal abilities in the intuitive realm.
Because of the 7's association with mathematics and science, this year may also provide great advances and discoveries in those worlds as well as in the world of medicine. 2023 should also bring about a greater focus on health and well-being both individually and collectively. There may be a collective and individual desire to re-charge, re-assess and re-direct one’s energies.
We shall now look at the numbers that make up the 7 for their underlying influence. A 2s watchword is “Peacemaker.” A two is a union of mind and heart, and this year doubled in emphasis. The two in its positive aspect is about relationships with our self and the Divine, and our self and others. The 2 is about community, balance, equilibrium, unity, cooperation and peace. It is also about feelings, our inner and outer senses, and desires. It is calling us forth to be the peacemaker and working together in cooperation and sharing for this whole millennium and throughout the 20s with its double influence. When the 2 is not honored it can express as negation in plans, delays, conflict, war, division and imbalance.
We also have the 3, its watchword is “Joygiver.” Its qualities are imagination, inspiration, emotion, creative talent, optimism, intuitive, gift of words. The 3 is the Trinity of creation: God the creator, creative activity and the creation. We can see this as a period of creative expression in the arts, sciences, and spirituality. When the 3 is not honored it can be lack of direction or scattered energies, gossip, selfishness, criticism and unforgiving. The 3 when honored will add a lightness to our Universal 7 Year.
Overall, the 7 year will call us to dive inward and learn from the past, but not to dwell in the past. This year will bring collective efforts in reforming spiritual practices. We will desire to be more alone to contemplate, meditate, to study and research to allow our creativity to surge.
The 7 Universal year calls us to ready ourselves for a period of major transition. The 7 readies us for wiser and more spiritually mature decisions and action. Much of this growth and awareness will be based upon seeking knowledge, applying that knowledge constructively, and living with a greater degree of spirituality. It is through these efforts that we can do great things and make great progress in healing.
We have a choice to entertain the negative aspects, allowing them to take over in our lives, or to rise above and redirect in a positive, life affirming and beneficial way for everyone. The great potential of awakened consciousness, intuition, improved education, and greater awareness on the part of both the individual and the collective can go a long way in circumventing and overcoming any problems that may arise. People actively striving to re-connect themselves to our planet, while living in greater harmony with the planet and one another, will assist in raising the vibration for all.
Remember that all numbers are good. Success in living out any number is being true to it. Allowing it to express through you - be it. Be the peacemaker, be the inspiration and creative imagination, and be the wisdom and understanding to bring it all together.
The second number we’re looking at is called the Personal year number. Each person has their own Personal year number. We find our personal year by adding our month, day, and the current year together, and then reduce to a single digit. Such as, Nov. 15, 2023; Nov. reduces to a 2, 15 reduces to a 6, and 2023 reduces to a 7. Now add the 2, 6, and 7 together which equals 15, which reduces to a 6. I shall briefly go over each number.
1 - This is a year for new beginnings and to take the initiative. It is a new cycle of experiences. Its watchword is Courage. This is a year to have courage to make plans and to avoid inertia or indecision, and the willingness to let go of things having to do with the past. One personal year calls for strength of purpose, clear thinking, executive ability and originality of thought.
2- Its watchword is “Peacemaker.” Results are gained through “Sharing” and willingness to wait for development. You may experience delays, for results cannot come to the surface all at once. Patience and diplomacy must be applied in business and personal relationships. This is not a year to force results, but to allow the natural flow to unfold in divine timing.
3- Its watchword is “Joygiver.” This is a year to put your best foot forward and do everything to improve yourself. There is a quickening force operating in your affairs, and now is the time to make use of the creative, inspirational, and imaginative ideas, and ideals which flood your heart. In business, as well as friendships, inspiration and imagination can mean improved finances and happier associations.
4- Its watchword is “Construction.” This is a practical year. There is a work to be done. The plans and inspiration of last year must now be put into more concrete form. This is a year of accomplishment in laying a foundation for security and lasting conditions in the future. Order, system, organization, management and application are important.
5- Its watchword is “Progress.” This is a year of changing conditions and eventful happenings will add new life and color to your undertakings, forcing you into step with progress. Change and new are keynotes to the 5 year. All change should be to the advantage of others as well as yourself. Show versatility of thought and resourcefulness in action. Travel, move, at least do something to freshen up the home, social and business activities.
6- Its watchword is “Humanitarian service.” This is a year of responsibilities to meet, obligations to be paid, and duty to accept business, family, relationships. Service is your keynote to success and happiness this year. You must give more generously than you receive to bring about improvements and more settled conditions.
7- Its watchword is “Understanding.” This is sort of a sabbatical year, and you should spend more time in quiet pursuits as in spiritual and intellectual activities. There is a desire to know more, and to specialize your knowledge and talents. This is a mental house clearing year. You are laying a foundation for inner strength and power, and for soul realization which will make big changes in your life. During the year you may have many interesting and unusual experiences through being left alone.
8- Its watchword is “Judgement.” This year you will feel ambition stirring and a deep desire to better your financial conditions. The call is to be very businesslike, efficient and practical. There is a big opportunity for advancement and improvement. Organization and reorganization are the keynotes to success and advancement.
9- Its watchword is “Forgiveness.” This year closes a cycle of experiences that began 9 years ago. This year brings many of your affairs to a head. You will realize a completion and also the fulfillment of some dreams. This is a year of letting go of the old and undesirable in your life to make way for the real and worthwhile. Be tolerant, compassionate and forgiving. This is a year of impersonal thought and feelings. Through what you do for others reward is given.
