Good morning! This is Rev. Teresa. I have a reading for you this morning from the January 30th Divine Science Daily Study, titled:

IN MY DEEP SPRING OF WISDOM, I FIND PEACE

Amongst indigenous Australians, dadirri is inner deep listening that recognises the deep spring of wisdom inside us. Aunty Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr-Bauman, an Aboriginal elder from Nauiyu in the far north of Australia, has written:

When I experience dadirri, I am made whole again. I can sit on the riverbank or walk through the trees; even if someone close to me has passed away, I can find my peace in this silent awareness. There is no need of words. A big part of dadirri is listening.

A “deep spring within” is a brilliant metaphor for the Divine Presence. Australia is said to be the driest inhabited continent on earth. Water is its most precious asset, an asset that is sometimes hard to find. The aboriginal peoples of Australia were able to find water and survive in this inhospitable place aided by the practice of dadirri.

When practitioners of Divine Science seek Truth by listening in the silence for the still small voice within, they are employing dadirri (deep listening) to seek the wellspring of life.

In the words of Aunty Miriam-Rose, “I believe the spirit of dadirri that we have to offer will blossom and grow, not just within ourselves but within all.”

The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters;

The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.

--Proverbs 18:4 (NKJV)

Meditation

Now I invite you to prepare to go within for a short time of meditation, letting go of worries or concerns for this time, getting comfortable, closing your eyes with your inner gaze raised to the center of the forehead, turning your attention to your breath, gently noticing the in-breath and the out-breath… feeling the coolness of the in-breath and the warmth of the out-breath… allowing the breath to sink down into the belly with each in-breath… expanding the belly with each in-breath and contracting the belly with each out-breath… coming into the present moment through the breath now, completely awake and aware…

I am a Divine expression, perfect, whole and complete…

How wonderful it is to know that I live and move and have my being in God…

God is omnipresent, in me and in every manifest expression…

God’s wisdom is within me as Divine expression…

As I get quiet in meditation I can experience dadirri, hearing Divine inner wisdom speaking to me…

I listen in the silence for the still small voice within…

As I shut out the clatter of the external world, I can tune in to Deep Spring of Wisdom within with the deep listening of dadirri…

Divine Wisdom tells me that listening in the silence is more valuable than the noise of speaking…

Divine wisdom is always available within, waiting for me to get quiet enough to hear the Divine voice of Peace…

The Divine is always offering me the peace that passes all understanding, but I must be willing to be quiet and listen…

This peace is not heard in the hustle and bustle of the outer world; peace, be still…

Daily I sit quietly in silent awareness, allowing my focus to go within, awaiting the Divine voice…

I close my eyes and listen, allowing my thoughts to subside…

When I am in nature, the sweet bird calls, the sound of a gentle brook, the whisper of the gentle breeze, the stillness of nature in a quiet place can bring me to the awareness of Divine peace as I listen, allowing myself to rest in the peace of silent awareness…

In my own home, sitting quietly in the early morning before the bustle of the day begins, Divine Peace fills my heart and my consciousness as I allow myself to rest in silent awareness…

Dadirri, the deep spring within, is a blessing I can bring into my life each day…

We go now into the silence of dadirri for one minute…

Now that we have rested in the silence, I invite you to bring yourself back to awareness of the body, back to awareness of your surroundings, feeling deeply rested and peaceful. Starting your day with a time of meditation brings Divine Peace into the day ahead. Start your day with the deep inner listening of dadirri and reap the peace of the Divine in your daily life.
