Today’s reading is written by Rev. Janet Friedline from the Divine Science Federation Daily Study. Titled: GIVE NO THOUGHT ABOUT YOUR LIFE.
We have been told to watch our thoughts. The individual, as thinker, is able to exchange one thought for another, to choose one belief over another, to replace one idea with another. Our choice allows us to experience what it is we have chosen to think on. Always, it is the thinker who does the choosing.
The prodigal son did not have to go to the far country. No one urged him to leave his father’s house; the decision was his. His desire was to think and experience on his own, without the benefit of his father’s wisdom, knowledge and understanding. To live life as the thinker places responsibility on our shoulders. And as the saying goes, “actions have consequences.”
Jesus told us to give no thought for our life. He advised us to look at the lilies and the raven. They neither toil nor spin. They rely on the inner awareness for guidance and direction. It is not necessary for them to go outside their nature to express what belongs to them. And so it is with us.
“Choose this day whom you will serve.” Joshua 24:15
Our role is to become still and listen in an inward way. Have no opinion, do not resist. Power lies in the still small voice. Let us trust and obey.
Meditation - Wisdom
We will now go into meditation on Wisdom. I invite us to turn inward to our Holy Temple, quiet our thoughts, and listen taking in these words.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5
Infinite Spirit, Divine Intelligence, that is all and in all, and everywhere present God’s Kingdom and Heaven. Therefore, I am of this Infinite Divine Intelligence. Thus I have direct access to all universal wisdom and knowledge. It is my birthright, my inheritance as a child of God. Wisdom is the true priceless pearl that is found in the depths of my soul’s Holy Temple. I knock and the door opens to the wisdom of Universal Mind. My mind and heart are now opening...
I am an open vessel to receive... (Repeat)
In silence God speaks to me the mysteries of life, our universe and beyond. Just as every creature is guided to living its best life, intuition guides my every action, and I am divinely inspired to a full rich life. Wisdom is the way and the guiding light. I now be still and listen. (Silence)
As we bring our attention back let us feel the joy of gratitude for these moments in silent communion. With a full heart I say, Thank you, God. So it is, Amen!
