Reading & Meditation (Peace) by Rev. Christine Emmerling DD, 6/30/2024

Today my reading is from Divine Science Daily Studies II written by Elsie MacKay.

“In this place will I give you peace.” Haggai 2:9

What is the peace that God gives? One thing is certain–it is not static but alive. To taste this peace is to be so firmly grounded in faith that “in this place,” in this moment, you yourself are peace. You do not feel it as something happening to you; you give live to this quality by being “peace.” Just as God has given you the breath of life, He now gives you the breath of peace. The peace of God is transmitted to you and through you by the deep convictions that flourish in your heart. Obviously, peace is not dependent on world conditions, experiences, or possessions, but on the openness of your heart toward God.

Father, we open our hearts to you and let the infinite lines of faith be established. Along these lines we commune with you. We let go of the feelings that have led only to unrest. Anxiety is forgotten as we realize that the peace of God is alive throughout the whole universe. Like the air we breathe, peace is ours as we consent to the perfect action through us. We are peace, at one with all good. Thank you Father.

The Father speaks within:

Your consciousness is now open to receive that which has always been at hand and within. Peace is the very essence of all my creation. The lines of faith will always lead you to this realization. Keep these lines open. Give your attention to that which endures. Follow the Christ Light.

Meditation

We shall now move into meditation on “Peace” Let us turn inward to our holy temple, breathe deeply and slowly as we quiet our thoughts. Take the following words within for yourself:

I tune out worldly thoughts as I tune in to the Truth of the Omnipresence of God. An everywhere Infinite Spirit that includes all creation, all life. I am one with this Infinite Spirit. The Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom of God is within me. God’s peace is at hand and is available within me right here and now. My Peace I give to you.

I live in the Peace of God. (Repeat)

I see God’s peace in all of life; in the stillness of the night with the moon and stars quietly shining and life is restfully sleeping; the early dawn with ponds and lakes ever so still with just the birds singing; Majestic beauty of the mountains, valleys and plains waking to a new day; trees standing tall and silently being present supporting life; God’s peace transcending the busyness of the daylight hours; My mind is at peace, my body is at peace, my soul is at peace; All is calm. All is still. I now go deep within to an ever-abiding peace. Peace be still... (Silence)

We give thanks for these moments in silence. We are grateful for this truth and in our expanded awareness of At-one-ment. Thank you, Divine Presence of God. Amen.
