Reading & Prayer Treatment on Health by Rev. Christine Emmerling 5/7/2023
Today I’m sharing from the book Faith & Works by Helen Zagat.
From Mathew 8:5-8, “And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, and saying, Lord, my servant lies at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus said unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof; but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.” Here we have an example of that which many call “absent treatment”.
The out picturing must come when we give ourselves, with humility, with attention, with sincerity to Spirit, that the perfect activity of creative Power may work in us and through us. And, in including others, remember that we do not heal. It is God that works in us and through us. It is our part to hold to the truth, and to see the perfection that is already there. When we are righteous – think rightly – our prayers are in tune with the Infinite.
Our prayers are made in the recognition of the One Presence and the One Power. There is only one God, one Presence, one Power; and so the Spirit in this other one, and the Spirit in you, is one Spirit. Your holding to the Truth brings the truth forth.
Prayer Treatment - Health:
We shall now have a prayer treatment. Take a moment to get comfortable and go within to your holy temple. Relax and breathe. I invite you to take these words within for yourself to embody them.
I open my mind and heart to the Omnipresence of God, the Infinite Spirit, that is everywhere present, and as the Christ within me. I am one with this Divine Presence, the Christ Consciousness. I have faith in the miracle-working power of the Christ within me.
I do not look toward the outer; I give no power to the evidence of the senses. I trust the cleansing healing power of Divine Love to wash away false thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I am cleansed by the forgiving love of the Christ consciousness, because I am receptive to its loving action. As I use love toward my fellow men, forgiving hurts and erasing resentments and fears, so does the stream of Divine Christ - Love do its glorious work in me.
I know that the perfection that is now in me comes into visibility through my faith in Spirit. Spirit fulfills. I am free from the bondage of belief in limitation. I am renewed and revitalized now. I am the perfect manifestation of God’s perfect idea of life. God-Life manifests and functions perfectly in me.
I know that the fountain of pure Life within me is renewing, revitalizing and rebuilding my body. (repeat)
I am vibrant with the strength and vitality of Spirit. (repeat)
I am radiantly well and whole. (repeat) Silence
I praise God, that life giving presence that is here and now realized through me. I give thanks that it is done. I give joyous thanks. And, so it is. Amen!
