Reading & Meditation (Wholeness) by Rev. Christine Emmerling, D.D., 8/30/2026

Our reading for today is from the Divine Science Daily Studies by Rev. Robert Winterhalter.
He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace. –Luke 8:48
Plato once said: “Neither ought you to attempt to cure the body without the soul; for the reason why the cure of many diseases is unknown to the physicians of Greece is because they are ignorant of the whole, which ought to be studied also, for the part can never be well unless the whole is well.”
Positive attitudes and emotions contribute to the building of a health consciousness. Learn to meet fearful situations with faith, and to dismiss doubts with reassurance. Health is divinely normal, an eternal verity, not to be created but realized.
Better than the periodic need for healing is the established consciousness of health. Even better than the belief that one can be healed is to live always in the realization of perpetual newness of life. Healing goes much deeper than the getting rid of a particular problem. It is a whole-making process, always at work within us, awaiting our recognition and agreement. By turning to the divine Presence within, we let the direct action of Spirit move through our lives, making us whole in all ways.
Affirm: There is one perfect Spirit of integrity working in and through me,
expressing its harmonious nature in mind, body, and affairs.
Meditation
We shall now move into a meditation on wholeness. Relax, get comfortable. As we close our eyes let us turn inward to our sacred temple. Now bring our attention to our breath, breathing in the breath of God. Exhaling into a gentle silence. Taking another breath and going deeper within, being present. As I speak to take these words within.
The Divine Presence of God, Infinite Spirit is everywhere present. Spirit is the eternal consciousness that is whole, perfect and complete. Right here and now all that I am is of God. Divine Spirit as Substance is my body temple. My entire being is alive in Spirit and Spirit is the life that I am.
Every aspect of my being is whole and complete in God. (Repeat)
Every creation of God is Infinite Spirit whole and complete. Our entire universe is whole holy alive in uncountable ways of love expressing beauty. Every star system, and all the space between is wholly perfect. The tiniest creature is wholly perfect right down to every cell and atom. All in perfect balance and order; perfection of love and beauty in all life. I am whole and complete in God. I now rest in the silence.
Thank you, God, for these moments in silent communion of at-one-ment. Now let us bring our attention back to our breath, to our body, and be fully present.
