Today my reading is from Divine Science Daily Studies II written by W.F. Evans.
“It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail.” John 6:63
There is no death. All is boundless, endless, omnipresent Life. Disease is only a dream that precedes and occasions our waking into Life. It is the shock that comes to startle us from the slumber of a life of sense, the alarm clock that is set to wake us at break of day.
Though the outer body may be put off and be dissolved back into its original elements, yet the redeemed soul shall view it as the wreck of a shell out of which an angel is born. For it is a law as universal as the presence of God in nature, that out of what the world falsely calls death there is always evolved a higher form and order of life.
The first ray of hope comes to us with the clear intuition of the truth that the physical covering has no power of its own. It is entirely passive and inert, and its normal function is to express and obey the spirit. It has no power except what we in thought ascribe to it, and when we finally cease to do this, our full redemption draws near. The relation of the outer body to the inner and real man was clearly seen by Swedenborg, who wrote, “The body is a form corresponding to the understanding of the man who inhabits it.”
Meditation
We shall now move into a meditation on “Life” Let us turn inward to our holy temple, breathe deeply and slowly as we quiet our thoughts and listen. Take the following words within for yourself:
As I embrace within me this holy temple of God, I contemplate on that which is the Truth of God, the Truth of my very being. God is Spirit as an everywhere all-pervading Presence and is the eternal life of all creation. There is one creator, one life, and I am of that very same life of God. The life that I am is the living God expressing life in through and as my very being. I am living in and of the Presence of God, and the Presence of God is the very life that I am.
I am ever alive expressing life and more life. (Repeat)
Death is consciousness in transition from one state of form to another. Life in this earthly form is a temporary state that is always changing. With each breath I am renewed, made new, I am no longer the same. Every cell of this entire body transitions giving way for a greater expression; an infant, child, adult, each stage so different yet the same self. Then as though with wings my sense of self expands and takes flight soaring to an even greater expression of love, of joy, and of peace. I am ever alive here, there and everywhere. (Silence)
We give thanks for these moments in silence. We are grateful for this truth and in our expanded awareness of At-one-ment. Thank you Divine Presence of God. Amen.
