My reading for today is from the Divine Science Daily Studies and today’s is authored by Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Ann Morgan ~ Pueblo, CO.
FOR WHOM ARE WE RESPONSIBLE?
Our cat, all mistreated animals?... our children, all hungry children?... our properties, our neighborhoods, our governmental officials, the displaced and threatened everywhere? We often select a cause — or several — most appealing to us and give our support, but the need is so great and the effort so disheartening that often we consciously tune out and move on to immediate personal needs and desires.
As members of the collective consciousness, however, this lack of supportive focus drags all down. Addressing troubling issues with affirmative treatment (affirmative prayer) is costly only in moments and mental concentration on divine truth. One pet lover cannot save all the suffering animals, but prayerful rejoicing in universal recognition of the Divine nature of every manifest being raises the collective consciousness, and supporters everywhere rise to lift the burden.
We are indeed responsible — to continually concentrate on and faithfully recognize our individual place in God’s plan for creative expression. Then practical opportunities open before us and the tools of accomplishment are readily available when we pray:
I am an instrument of the Divine Plan.
My place, my activities are clear to me.
I bless and am blessed.
Meditation
We shall now move into a meditation on Good. Relax, get comfortable. As we close our eyes let us turn inward to our holy temple. Now bring our attention to our breath, the very breath of God, the sacred breath that sustains all life. God and I are one.
And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
Gen. 1:31.
God is all and that includes all of creation, then now and forevermore, and it is all very good.
I too see the good, the good in you and me, and all life. All is good!
God created abundance therefore there is plenty for all. I too see the abundance and plenty for all. All is good!
God expresses generosity and kindness through its creations. I am and everyone are vessels for generosity and kindness to flow through. All is good!
God is the peace that passes all understanding and is the natural state of all creation. I am that peace and so is everyone and all life everywhere.
Peace be still and know I am one with God. I now relax into a minute of silence...
Thank you, God, for these moments in silent communion of at-one-ment. Now let us bring our attention back to our breath, to our body, and be fully present.
