Today I’m speaking about having a Prosperity Consciousness. Most people consider their income to be fixed at a preset amount. The term “fixed income” automatically implies a sense of limitation. That you get this much to live on and that’s it.
In Truth our financial wealth can only be limited by our ability to receive. First lets identify our source. Most people think of their source as their employer, retirement fund, or the person who doles out the money. Or, they think of their cash on hand, bank accounts, investments. These are not our source. These are channels, or the ways in which we are receiving.
In Luke 6:32 & 38, Jesus says “It is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” “Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, shaken down and running over they will pour into your robe. For with the measure that you measure, it will be measured to you.”
Our source is unlimited, we have an unrestricted, inexhaustible source we call God, Father, Infinite Spirit or Omnipresence. And where is this God? Everywhere, both visible and invisible! Therefore our source, our unlimited supply, is everywhere, including right here within our own consciousness. We acknowledge there are limitless channels for our receiving. We are also a channel for God’s infinite good to flow through to others.
We then ask our self, “How good am I as a channel for God’s good to flow through?” Are my channels restricted by fear, guilt, anger, unworthiness, or in beliefs of lack and limitation? All substance is Spirit, consciousness, an energy. That which constricts my energy, restricts my ability to give and receive.
Since God is all and unlimited then God’s channels for prosperity are also unlimited. This means we have the potential to have as much prosperity as we are open to receiving. Imagine how much good we could do with all that wealth? There are philanthropists in this world that see their wealth as a means to make this a better world. They are wide open channels for giving and receiving - a complete flow. The law of circulation in action.
God can get to you, only what God can get through you. I’ll say it again, God can get to you, only what God can get through you. If stopped up with unloving thoughts and feelings, then love and our good measure is just not able to flow through us. To unplug we need to raise our vibration to the frequency of love.
How about our sense of worthiness? How well do we love our self? Or, better yet, do we even love our self? Do we have our long list of why we are not good enough? Then begin to think about what we do know of God; that we are made of the very same substance, in the same image and likeness of God, and all is very good. How then can we possibly not love our self?
In Matt 6:37-38, Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” By loving God, and knowing our oneness with God, we are also of God’s love. Let us begin then by loving our own self, by being that love, having that love flow and radiate through and as us.
The kindest thing we can do for ourselves is to pay attention to our mind chatter, that senseless dialog that plays in the head. Is it loving, kind, and helpful? If not, then replace with what we know to be true. Saying affirmative statements of truth are a proven method to rewriting our mental script. Our mental state of mind sets our inner vibration. Our inner vibration, or energy field sets up our ability to attract our good. Love expands our energy field while fear and negative thoughts contract.
The following is an exercise to open our heart. Start by saying your first name following with the words “I love you,” such as, “Christine I love you.” Repeat. How did that feel? Does it feel true? Next say, “I Am the activity of Love in Action.” (Repeat) This activity of “I Am” is the action of God, our Creator within us. God within us is our unlimited source and flow of love as prosperity. Divine Presence, God, is unconditional love, therefore I am loved unconditionally. Now let us affirm: “I am loved, I am love, and I am loving.” Again we are going to say our name followed with “I love you.” We now check within and see how we feel.
Then we are told in Matt. 6:7-15, called The Lord’s prayer, tells us to forgive so that we may also be forgiven. Then in Matt. 18:22, Jesus said to forgive your brother 70 x 7. When we withhold forgiveness to anyone or ourselves, we are only hurting our own self. If you’re being restricted in prosperity, health or relationships, then forgiveness needs to be looked at and worked on. Forgiveness is about love, its about having compassion for the other person and towards our own self.
Either we are freely giving love, or withholding it. If withholding it becomes like a dam. Nothing more can get in, not even a trickle. So let us begin to open up our flow with the following exercise: Select one person in mind to forgive; a family member, a friend, a foe, yourself, a political leader, past or present, dead or alive - it doesn’t matter. I’ll give us a moment to select.
We will now bring our attention to our heart. Imagine we are breathing through both the nose and heart with our focus on our heart. Breathing in through the heart and exhaling through the heart. Feel our heart’s aliveness - sense its opening. Now imagine this person that you have selected to forgive as facing you. Love begins to connect us heart to heart. Imagine it as a radiant light that continues to grow and encircling you both together.
Now with feeling we’ll say, “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do. Forgive me Father for I know not what I do. Forgive us Father for we know not what we do.” I’ll repeat. With a full heart we say “Thank you, Thank you God. It is done.
Now for our belief system. Paul says in Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This world can be our family, friends, co-workers, or all those sales ads trying to tell us how to believe or what to desire. Yet, Paul is telling us not to conform, to not believe and become as others want. But to have our own sense of what is right for us, and that is done through the renewing of our mind. Studying Truth teachings, and applying them in our life.
So often we may say we want something, that new job, car, house, jackpot but deep down we just don’t believe it can be true for us. That is known as the secondary thought or gut feeling. The conscious mind and subconscious mind are in conflict.
Guess what happens when there is conflict, the desire is cancelled out because the underlying feeling is stronger than the thought, in other words our belief system overrides what we think we want. Its about becoming congruent within oneself. The mind and feelings working together.
Emmet Fox calls it having the mental equivalent for what we desire. People will say they want to win a million dollars but take a cup of consciousness to receive it. We need to build a believing consciousness, or a mental equivalent. When our beliefs change, the outer expression must change to correspond. Prayer and affirmations are a means to changing our beliefs.
This requires having an open mind in being receptive to receiving our good measure. Being open minded is having the faith to believe in miracles, and the faith and trust to just try it. It is being open to suggestions, new ideas, and to see it differently that leads us to our unexpected income. It is believing in what we cannot see, knowing that in Truth it is already done – it was created in mind and heart, thought and desire, and set forth to be manifested. It is having our eyes and ears open, paying attention to that which is around us. Signs are being sent all the time, and we just never know when money will be found right before our feet.
Being receptive goes along with being open minded except one step further. It opens us to our inner guidance, saying “yes” when asked to work overtime, or do a special favor for family member or friend, or extending our self to helping a stranger. By expanding our mind and heart we increase our avenues for receiving.
Some people want something for nothing. This is not a get rich quick scheme. We are demonstrating principle. There is always an exchange of energy. This exchange may be money, physical work, being helpful, giving a gift, feeding the poor or showing gratitude. The means and ways are endless. Be creative, your giving doesn’t have to be expensive, it can be a compliment, a smile, a kind word. When our giving, prayers, and affirmations are combined, watch those miracles come forth. We are really speaking about the law of circulation. Circulating our energy – God energy – Love energy.
Nothing is outside of our self. God is everywhere present that means God is all that we are. That absolutely everything comes from consciousness. There is only one consciousness - that of God. The power and intelligence of God is expressing in and through everyone right here and now. No person can withhold our good from us – we are responsible for our own flow of energy.
Imagination is a powerful tool to use for receiving. What we can imagine we can bring forth into manifestation. Mind and heart working together, meaning with our thoughts and feelings we manifest. Image a desire and add the feeling of having it. We are experiencing through our imagination what it is like to have what we are desiring. A “having” feeling rather than a “wanting” feeling.
Jesus said, to pray as though you have already received. Then our prayers are filled with gratitude for what we already have and we for all that we shall receive. Our cup is full and running over.
Appreciation, gratitude expands the heart and love energy. Begin a practice of having gratitude upon awakening and prior to going to sleep. See how our gratitude expands. When we can live our entire day in gratitude that becomes praying without ceasing. This is loving God with all our heart and mind.
From the book Divine Science Its Principle and Practice we find the following affirmative statements that Rev. Nona Brooks, an early leader of Divine Science, used at the end of her daily meditation:
I live in a universe that abounds; it shares itself with me.
This eternal, unchanging reality is my constant supply.
I abound in every good; this is my unchanging reality.
My Father gives me His spirit without measure.
My Father does not measure to me His life; I have all the energy, wisdom, power, that I can use.
My Father does not measure to me his substance; I am supplied without limit.
I abound in all good.
So it is!
