Reading & Meditation (Oneness) by Rev. Christine 5/23/2021
Today I’ve selected a reading from the book Truth and Health by Fannie Brooks James, an early Divine Science teacher in Denver:
Jesus’ works were not “miracles” except to the ignorant. He understood and exercised the perfect Law. It never changes; it is as much with us today as it was with him. “Awake thou” that still sleepest and the Christ, always with you, shall give you Light.
As you receive this Light, you, too, know that you “are born, not of blood, nor of the will of flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12-13.) This is your “new birth.” You see your origin in a new way. Like Mary, you know that Spirit, and not flesh, is the Source of men and that all Life is perfect.
Now you put on the Mind of Christ. You hear the assurances that Jesus heard; you see the Truth that he saw and believe in and receive the Power that he believed in. This is the “Christ in you, your hope of glory” as it was in Jesus.
We need the revelation of the Son. Paul said, “It pleased God to reveal his son in me.” Each will receive the revelation as soon as he can receive it.
“Take my yoke upon you.” His yoke was unity with God. Let this consciousness of unity be ours. It is a state of perfect agreement or harmony – this is true at-one-ment.
“Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form” (image) “of God, thought it not robbery to be equal” (one) “with God.” We are to accept that same mind! I leave it for you to meditate upon.
“For he is our peace who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition.” Truth, understood and lived, becomes our peace, for by its light, we can see unity between all things and the breaking down of every claim of separation between God and man. Meditation
Let us now go into meditation. Get comfortable, close your eyes, and begin with some good deep breathing.
The Omnipresence of God, God everywhere present is right here, right now, right where I am God is. What is true of me is equally true of everyone, and all life everywhere. This living presence of God is the life and light of all creation. All there is is God, and God in action. I am the life of God in action. I am the love of God in action. I am the power of God in action. I am one with and in and of God.
I am an eternal spiritual being expressing, and experiencing a visible body of pure Spirit Substance - of light, of love in action. (Repeat)
I live and move, and have my being in God. God is spirit therefore I am spirit. This invisible substance of love, is the power, is the creation of all life manifest. This invisible living Spirit sustains all life and form. I am a living manifestation of God as life; whole, perfect and complete.
Let us move into the silence...
