Tune Your Mind to the Blessing Channel
“Tune Your Mind to the Blessing Channel” Rev. Christine 8/13/2017
Are you one of those people that would like to have more financial wealth? Today I’m speaking about prosperity, but also realize that prosperity comes in many forms. A truly prosperous person is also rich in friendships, love, good health, morals, spiritual values and practices. Reminds me of the 1946 movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
Our source is unlimited, we have an inexhaustible source we call God, Divine Presence, or Infinite Spirit. And where is this God? Everywhere, both visible and invisible. Therefore our source, our unlimited good, is everywhere, including right here within us, and expressing through us. And, we recognize there are also limitless channels for our receiving. We are also a channel for God’s infinite good to flow through.
How good of a channel are we for God’s good to flow through? Are my channels restricted by fear, guilt, anger, shame, or in beliefs of lack and limitation or unworthiness. All substance is spirit, it is consciousness, and it is energy. That which closes off my energy, also shuts down and restricts my ability to receive.
Think of ourselves like a radio that receives from different stations sending their programs of information. We are surrounded by an infinite number of thoughts each one set to a different frequency; some good, others fearful, angry, depressing, attacking, poverty, then there are thoughts of love, kindness, Divine inspirational thoughts, gratitude, healing, praise, joyful. Our mind is like that, we are a receiving station, and tune to the station by the frequency we set - like attracts like.
We do have a choice in which station we attune to. We can turn our dial, or push another button so to speak. Change the frequency and change the quality of our thoughts! To change our thoughts we have to first become aware - be present and observe what is going on in our thoughts.
Once we become aware we have the command of our mind to switch our focus and choose which station we’ll listen to. The selection we make is by matching energy, therefore we must reset our frequency to a higher level if we wish to receive bountiful blessings.
To lift our frequency we can start with inspirational readings, do affirmations, listen to inspiring music, sing, pray, meditate, have gratitude, forgive, good deep breathing, exercise, yoga and tai chi to name a few. I’ll begin with sharing some Bible verses that support the idea of prosperity as God’s idea.
“Do not be afraid, O little flock; for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32.
“But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
“I am the Lord your God which teaches you to not do wrong, who leads you by the way that you should go.” Isaiah 48:17
“They shall prosper who love you.” Psalm 122:6
“They that seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” Psalm 34:10
“Who is the man among you, who when his son asks him for bread, will hand him a stone? Or if he should ask him for a fish, will hand him a snake? If therefore you who err, know how to give good gifts to your sons, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him?” Matthew 7:9-11
“Give, and it will be given to you; good measure shaken down and running over they will pour into your robe. For with the same measure that you measure, it will be given to you.” Luke 6:38
“Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.” Matt. 7:7 and Luke 11:9
“He who sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he who sows generously shall reap also generously. So let every man give according to what he has decided in his mind, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
“Trust in the Lord; and he shall give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4.
“Abraham called the name of that place Mariah-nekhzey, that is, the Lord will Provide: as it is said to this day, on this mountain, the Lord shall provide.” Gen. 22:14
“Hitherto you have asked nothing in my name: ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be full.” John 16:24
“For this reason, I say to you, do not worry for your life, what you will eat, drink, nor for your body, what you will wear. Behold, is not life much more important than food, and the body than clothing. Observe the birds of the sky, for they do not sow, neither do they harvest nor gather into barns, and yet your Father in heaven feeds them. Are you not much more important than they. Who is among you who by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” Matt. 6:25-27
“The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1
“I have come that they might have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
Those are just a sampling of our promised abundant good. Over and over we are told to not worry, take no thought, and that God is our provider. Then why have the fear that there will not be enough to go around? We say that God is the creator of our world and universe, and yet we fear that we won’t be provided for. It is only the fear and doubt, then, that shuts down the flow to our receiving.
It can be like a water faucet. Turn the handle, and open the flood gates to a full force - this is love in action without restriction. Now begin to turn the handle the other direction; with a little anger, the water reduces from a gush to a stream. This time we’ll add guilt; now there’s just a trickle of water. A person once said, “God can get to you only what God can get through you.”
What then gets us to the love frequency? We are told that Gratitude; having a thankful heart, Joy, Praise, Giving; being a joyful giver, and Faith; in knowing our source - knowing our connection to our source. We must therefore, remind ourselves constantly of our divine connection to our source, until the very idea is embodied within us.
We must also therefore, be grateful having a grateful heart in gratitude for all that we already have in praising, and be a joyful giver as well as a joyful receiver. Gratitude, Praise, Joy, and Giver are the activities of love that which primes the pump for the bountiful endless flow of good in our lives.
From our text book, Divine Science Its Principle and Practice, page 167: “Each student will need to repeat his affirmations of Truth over and over again. Affirm the eternal principle as it is revealed. Recognize the verities of your own being or life. Accept the revelation; think and speak by its light. Be positive, be firm, and unwavering. Consciousness of truth will be your reward. Every hour of every day, yes, every moment, be on your guard to admit only the perfect good, to affirm the love-presence in everything.
“Never give up. Until beliefs disappear continue to speak the words of Truth. Assume the true position of a Son of God and express Truth in wholeness. All perfection that has been and that ever will be, is now. To recognize it is to realize it; to acknowledge it is to awaken to a sense of being it, which will enable us to speak the truth as it was in Jesus.
“The Divine Scientist renders thanks unceasingly for good received, for knowledge gained, for health expressed, for truth perceived, for love manifested, for God revealed, for ever-present Goodness; for the awareness that he is one with the All-Good.”
I remind you that the words of truth are not the magic, but the words repeated, aligns are consciousness with truth, raises our frequency, and builds our faith to knowing that our Source is continually providing.
The following is from our early co-founder Nona Brooks, in The Prayer that Never Fails:
“Our share in the treasures of the universe is unbounded; we possess only what our consciousness measures to us. ‘With what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.’ Jesus’ word is true of our relation to the Whole as well as to our human brothers and sisters. If we take to the limitless Ocean of supply a pint measure of consciousness, a pint will be all that we can dip from it.”
The following are some statements that Nona used at the end of her daily meditation: “I live in a universe that abounds; it shares itself with me.” “This eternal, unchanging reality - is my constant supply.” “I abound in every good; this is my unchanging reality.” “My Father gives me His spirit without measure.” “My Father does not measure to me His life; I have all the energy, wisdom, power, that I can use.” “My Father does not measure to me his substance; I am supplied without limit.” “I abound in all good.”
Now I invite you to bring your attention to your heart. Breathe in through your heart, and exhale right through your heart with the “ah” sound as a soft sigh. See your heart as a flower opening up - receiving. Do this a few times. Take a moment to feel your heart pulsating to the frequency of love. I am love, I am loved, I am loving. I am bountifully blessed in every good way. And so it is! Now bring your attention back to this room.
